Poster Presentation at the International Dyslexia Association 61st Annual Conference
Jennifer Van Gilder, MA, CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist and an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. In November of 2010, she presented a poster entitled, “Written Expression Disorders: Expression and Treatment” at the International Dyslexia Association 61st Annual Conference in Phoenix, AZ. The poster explained methods of assessment and treatment of written expression disorders using a case study approach. Vignettes illustrated how clients responded to selected intervention techniques, such as the writing process, Key Paragraphs (Halmy, 2002), and using word, phrase, and sentence strips to organize ideas, sentences, and paragraphs.
