Biography:
Dr. Emily Lakey joined the department as an Assistant Professor in 2015. Her research and clinical interests involve autism/neurodiversity and models of professional teaming and service delivery for children who have complex communication needs. Dr. Lakey currently serves as Principal Investigator on a Department of Education Personnel Preparation grant entitled Interdisciplinary Support for High-Intensity Needs in Education (iSHINE). She also coordinates Level Up with Peers®, a clinical group for college students with social communication challenges, and participates in other clinical activities at the Charles E. and Geneva S. Scott Scottish Rite Communication Disorders Clinic. Dr. Lakey is originally from Massachusetts and enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities in the High Country with her family.
